Cody Johnson's music career spans over two decades, with a journey that's as inspiring as his songs. Born on May 21, 1987, in Sebastopol, Texas, Johnson started playing music at 12 and was influenced by traditional country artists like George Strait and Willie Nelson ¹. Johnson's music career began in 2006 when he formed the Cody Johnson Band with his father, Carl, and drummer Nathan Reedy. They released their first album, "Black and White Label," and later added lead guitarist Matt Rogers to record a live album, "Live and Rocking" ¹. In 2009, Johnson's band released their first professionally produced album, "Six Strings One Dream," which included three singles that reached the top 10 of the Texas music charts. Over the years, Johnson has released several successful albums, including "A Different Day" (2011), "Cowboy Like Me" (2014), and "Gotta Be Me" (2016) ¹ ². Johnson's big break came in 2019 when he signed with Warner Music Nashville and released his seventh album, "Ain't Nothin' to It," which included the single "On My Way to You."
